Diploma in Nursing Science & Midwifery
1. Started: 1973.
2. Duration of the course: 03 years.
3. Seat Capacity: 100
4. Entry Requirement: SSC & HSC Passed from any group with minimum GPA 2.50 in both SSC and HSC Exam.
5. Medium of Instruction: English & supplemental Bangla language as necessary.
6. Diploma Nursing Science & Midwifery course conducted by Bangladesh Nursing & Midwifery Council (BNMC)
7. Examinations are conducted by individual Institute. The three years course includes Six Semesters. In Each semester there are 2 Exams (Mid-term & Final Exam). After passing 6 semesters, students have to take a Nurse Internship for a period of 6 weeks then they have to sit for BNC comprehensive Exam for Certificate & License as Registered Nurse.
8. From 2019, curriculum has been changed. Examinations are conducted by Bangladesh Nursing & Midwifery Council (BNMC) at the end of the year. After passing 3 years, students have to take a Nurse Internship for a period of 06 months then they have to sit for BNC comprehensive Exam for Certificate & License as Registered Nurse.
9. Both Certificate & Registration is issued by Bangladesh Nursing & Midwifery Council (BNMC).
10. From the beginning till date tution including food and accommodation are all free. In addition to this, students are given stipend for meeting their pocket expenses.
11. Diploma Nursing Science & Midwifery course started in 1973 and final exam was held in 1976. From 1976 – 2019 a total of 1177 Diploma Nurses have passed out.
12. Present student strenth: 237.
13. On completion of their studies, students have to work in Kumudini Hospital for at least 2 years while receiving salary.
